Hey guys!

There was some stuff on battlelog that you can design your own map and win a price
I decided to give it a try!

Here's my concept (work in progress, this was after 1 hour of work)

Nice work, escapially with only 1 hour of work!

But in all honesty, I wouldn't like more all-CQB maps on battlefield. What's the general idea of map (if any)? IDK what place that is, but I would like to have a large city map with big, open shopping mall (is that shopping mall in picture?) and big car park and bigger park next to it. Little bit of variety, you know? Also it must have enough space for tanks! Imagine sight of tank just comin' inside shopping centre all of sudden!

Also, are you going to make more of these? It looks pretty good, but (TBH) you're not gonna make that far with one picture. Also, thought of making overhead map? That would be cool, with points showing what each picture represents. Not saying you're bad or anything, just some constructive criticism.

And how did you make this? All by yourself, or did you find photo of shopping mall and added it in and blurred it, and then adding soldiers and explosions?
Also, I love those reflections you see in floor! Nice little details!

Yeah, having a tank crashing through the shopping mall would be cool.

Maybe a multistory car park on the side which leads out onto a park area. control points at top and bottom and middle of car park with ramps and stuff up and down it for close combat, then the park has nice wide area with bushes so people can snipe etc onto the carpark. Then attached to the side of the carpark is the shopping mall which can get a tank into it on the ground level but people can fight on the upper level etc. Maybe you can jump off the side of the car park and get on the roof of the shopping mall and shoot down on people within it. Maybe 1 or 2 control points inside the mall and 1 or 2 in the park too.

Just building on unknowns idea, would be sweet as though

Yeah I totally agree with you guys
This is just one shot of the mall (yes, it's a mall)
It will be a pretty large map!

Think of this:


There will also be a carpark outside with a lot of cars.
And yes there are supposed to be tanks and shit

Now, if only greedy EA would allow DICE to release mod/map tools, we could make this map reality! BUT NO, IT WOULD TOTALLY RUIN DLC SALES! Like BF2 Special forces or booster packs didn't sell at all...
Shame, I always have had fun with map editors in Far Cry 2, SW: Empire at War and BF2. And with mission editor in ArmA/Flashpoint series. And with their mods.

Well making it in cryengine would be a LOT of work
Photoshop is way easier!

I totally think there should be mod tools! would be really cool to use, and I would use it all day!

I was thinking a car park joined on more like this style:


But maybe with fewer levels.

Have that joined onto the mall at all floors of it, with a large green park/forest area nearby

EDIT: Drew a map with my idea of what it could look like



The Black Squares are control points, the pink areas are the upper level(first floor) of the shopping mall. There would be shops down both sides, some empty, some full of various items. The Dark green area is a semi forest with some trees. The blue Hexagon is a fountain.

The Multistory car park could have 3 levels above ground. Ground level is a storage area for the shops and has lots of shelves. Some of them have crates and boxes on and some are empty so you can shoot between them.

First level has 1 control point. and a few cars.
Second level has a lot of cars
3rd level has a control point, perhaps with a small heli.

As the shopping mall does not go above the first floor and the roof is the second floor of it you can jump onto the roof of the shopping mall from the third floor of the car park. The roof would be metal with some large glass panels which you can shoot out and parachute into the mall through.

There would be a ramp up to the first floor of the carpark on the outside, with car ramps going up to the higher levels as well as a set of stairs up one side (or through a shaft in the middle?)

One side of the car park could be collapsed (one wall maybe)

I only wonder why multilevel buildings and tanks are a good idea together.
You see a tank in the shopping mall. -> run up the escalator and tank is nowhere....

Also I think you should make 3/4 (small) city's and then some transport for in between. maybe a few hills and a river.

Or some islands, with big hills so you can fly your jet in between the hills/mountains and also boating

Yes, then tank takes all the control points on the ground level (which is more than half if you look)

So tank wins if you run, you gotta go kill it.

I don't want it to be like a city.... It will just be the mall and carpark. then walls or something around it.... It should be around 250*250 meters or something.
